She had sent me an e-mail.
I nervously clicked on her address to read the contents.
She asked me if I was dating anyone. Apparently, I had
been complaining alot about the girls in Boston on my xanga.
She felt sad for me and was offering to set me up with some
girls.
I had to laugh at this short message. It was mildly disappointing.
In response, I thanked her for thinking of me but told
her I would have to respectfully decline her offer. I also
playfully informed her that I wasn't interested in being
set up with anyone unless they were a clone of her.
Our e-mail exchanges continued.
She told me that there were plenty of cute girls in Boston
and that perhaps I should lower my standards. I told her
that I would suggest someone for her to meet if I thought
they were awesome enough, but alas she was too awesome for
me to make any swift recommendations.
I couldn't believe I was still trying to get her attention.
She wasn't biting, but I was slightly amused to have an
open channel of communication.
She concluded one e-mail with the following:
"One day Sam, one day...she'll come when you are least
expecting..."
I wasn't expecting a thing. I never expected a thing.
Not even three years ago.
